At FAIR WEAVE, we believe in the power of craftsmanship to empower lives. Today, we'd like to introduce you to Sina, one of our talented artisans whose story exemplifies the spirit of our mission.

Sina's journey began at a young age. Contracting polio at just 3 years old, she has used a wheelchair ever since. This presented challenges, but Sina's spirit never wavered.

Before moving to Phnom Penh, Sina worked for a local business at the Cambodian-Thai border for eight months making clothes without a salary.

In 2019, Sina was introduced to FAIR WEAVE in the city. Recognizing her potential, we provided her with training to refine her sewing skills, opening doors to a fairer life.

Considering her mobility limitations, we developed lines of products specifically designed for her to create using one hand while seated in her wheelchair.”

Sina's dedication and patience shine through in her handcrafted coasters, meticulously sewn from leftover handloom fabric. These little squares of vibrancy are more than just coasters; they represent Sina's resilience and FAIR WEAVE's commitment to inclusive

creation and sustainable material.

But Sina's talents extend far beyond coasters. Her expertise encompasses a range of dining textiles such as napkins, placemats, and scrunchies, each piece reflecting the hallmark of FAIR WEAVE products: simple yet elegant design, exceptional quality, and enduring functionality.

Sina's story is a testament to the transformative power of opportunity and she turned her disability into a realm of possibilities. FAIR WEAVE is proud to provide a workplace for artisans like Sina to showcase their skills and build happy lives. Her coasters, becoming best-sellers, are a delightful reminder that beauty and functionality can be found in the simplest of forms.

In our next blog post, we'll delve deeper into the art of handloom weaving and the sustainable practices at FAIR WEAVE.
